Jacy Pickens, Student Trustee
Elected (one-year term)
After graduating from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 2005, Jacy Pickens enrolled full-time at Metro State for its urban location, rich diversity and affordable tuition. Pickens, a junior majoring in finance, says she plans a career as a personal financial planner. In addition to serving as the Student Government Assembly’s representative to the Board of Trustees, she is a member and former chair of SGA’s Student Welfare and Diversity Committee. As part of that committee, Pickens and her colleagues are evaluating issues such as the affordability of student health insurance coverage and campus sustainability. Pickens is working full-time at Charles Schwab in the clearing department while attending Metro State. She plans to graduate in May 2010.
