Application Checklist

The diversity of Metro State's student community means that each person travels their own path to get here. There truly is something for everyone on our campus, so to address those different needs, our application requirements vary based on your age, experience and academic plans.

Below are the basic steps for the three most typical categories of Metro State applicants:

First-time students (age 19 and younger)

  • Complete your Metro State application online here.
  • Send your $25 nonrefundable application fee to our Office of Admissions.
  • Ask your high school counselor to send us your official high school transcript, with current GPA and class rank information to our Office of Admissions. GED candidates do the same with your GED scores.
  • Take the SAT or ACT and have your official test scores sent directly to the Office of Admissions. (Metro State's SAT code is 4505; the ACT code is 0519.) The ACT or SAT is not required for applicants with a GED.
  • Calculate your CCHE index using this chart. If your index is 84 or below, we strongly encourage you to submit letters of recommendation and a one-page personal statement addressing your academic history and goals at Metro State.
